Moloko Tapas Bar Ipswich
The Moloko Bar in Ipswich was a fantastic project which truly transformed the appearance of the property. Originally, Moloko did not have a weatherproof outdoor entertainment area for guests to enjoy throughout the year. This meant that rain and cold weather could very easily interfere with the customer’s dining and socialising experience. Thankfully, they chose to implement a retractable louvre roof with frame, alongside guillotine glass windows, so that customers could delight in the lively events and bottomless brunches, no matter the weather.
This retractable roof was also paired with radio-control systems, allowing the owners of Moloko to easily operate the roof when needed. For example, by simply clicking a button, they can open the retractable roof pergola for summer events, whilst also easily closing the retractable roof if it did start to rain. Our futuristic control systems provide the perfect solution and added ease for hospitality sectors that are trying to balance entertaining and serving guests all at once.
One Tun Pub Hatton Garden London
We also completed a recent job at the One Tun Pub in Hatton Garden, London. This pub not only offers exquisite Thai cuisine, stylish cocktails and the ideal after-work hot spot, but it also features eight beautiful boutique rooms for guests to stay in. As a popular dining and entertainment venue, it was essential for them to create a welcoming pub garden that functions all year round. That’s why they chose to install a retractable louvre roof, suspended on custom brackets.
This design highlights our bespoke capabilities, in that we can create structures for any design aesthetic, peculiar shaped building or quirky idea. In this case, the One Tub Pub had a courtyard space which was not entirely square-shaped. So, we created custom brackets in different sizes in order for the retractable roof pergola to operate as intended (tilting the roof louvre to create shade, opening to maximise sunlight, or closing to protect from rainfall). The pub now offers a multi-functional outdoor space for guests to retreat to, in every season.
Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links
Finally, the Portmarnock Hotel in Dublin, Ireland was another great project of ours. As a large hotel and events venue, they required comfortable spaces both indoors and outdoors, accommodating guests throughout the year. They had a relaxing outdoor dining area which made the perfect spot during the summer, however, in the colder and rainier months, this area wasn’t usable. Therefore, we helped by installing a retractable louvre roof with frame accompanied by internal heating systems.
With this versatile shading structure, hotel guests could enjoy a meal outdoors even in the rain. Added warmth from the heaters also meant that this pergola was practical during colder months of the year too. Clearly, these recent projects show how roof louvres make an excellent addition to any commercial property, adding both value and aesthetics.
