The Sicily Project involved the enhancement of a residential Sicilian Villa, bringing together the traditional charm of Italian architecture with the modern functionality of Designer Shade Solutions’ roofs. Central to this project was the installation of the DSS Roma Operable Louvre system. This innovative feature allows for adjustable sunlight and ventilation, offering the homeowners the ultimate control over their living environment. The operability of the louvres means that the space can be transformed in response to the changing weather, ensuring comfort and enjoyment all year round. 

Complementing the Roma Operable Louvre, a DSS Motorised Zip Blind was added to the setup. This addition enhances the versatility of the outdoor area, providing the option to enclose the space for added warmth or privacy as needed. With the touch of a button, the residents can easily adjust the blinds, tailoring the ambiance and functionality of their outdoor living space to the moment’s needs. 

To further refine the installation, custom privacy flashing was incorporated. This thoughtful detail ensures privacy between the wall and the top of the system, allowing the villa’s inhabitants to enjoy their outdoor space without concern for outside visibility, seamlessly blending the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. 

The inclusion of LEDs within the system ensures that this outdoor area is not only usable during the day but also becomes a beautifully lit haven at night, perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing under the stars.
