Designer Shade Solutions brought added comfort and functionality to one of Dublin’s oldest and most iconic venues – The Purty Kitchen – by installing a DSS Skyview Operable & Retractable Roof System in their outdoor dining area. 

With a strong hospitality history dating back centuries, The Purty Kitchen needed a modern solution that could maximise use of its courtyard space while respecting the character of the setting. The Skyview system was chosen for its flexibility, clean lines, and ability to adapt instantly to Ireland’s unpredictable weather. 

The roof’s louvres can be tilted for ventilation or fully retracted to open the space to the sky. When closed, the system provides complete shelter, supported by integrated heating and lighting to maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere even during colder months. 

Set against stone walls and lush greenery, the new roof system blends into the venue’s timeless look while offering a major upgrade in functionality. The space can now operate in all conditions, providing guests with a reliable and stylish dining experience year-round.
