Designer Shade Solutions recently delivered a major installation for the rooftop social club, Pepper Street Market. It’s an open-air dining and events space designed around independent food vendors and community gatherings. Our goal was to create a flexible, weather-protected zone that could remain functional and inviting throughout the year. 

To achieve this, we installed the DSS Cedrus Retractable Roof System along with fully integrated glass door panels. This combination allows the space to be quickly adapted to changing weather, offering full coverage in colder months and an open-air atmosphere in warmer weather. 

The Cedrus system was selected for its strength, clean design, and smooth retracting ability. It spans across a wide section of the market, offering shelter over communal benches and vendor stalls. Integrated heating and lighting ensure that the area remains usable well into the evenings, even in cooler seasons. The glass doors add a layer of enclosure and weatherproofing while keeping sightlines clear and maintaining an open feel. 

Since completion, the space has seen a noticeable increase in visitor comfort and vendor performance, especially during unpredictable weather. Market operators were particularly pleased with how the system blends with the container-style layout and urban design of the venue.
